Huit congrès internationaux tenus aux universités de Paris, Londres, Berne et Rome. Fondé par R. Worms en 1893, l'Institut international de sociologie a été présidé successivement par les plus hautes personnalités vouées aux études sociologiques; ses congrès triennaux ont abordé les questions les plus importantes, soit de sociologie générale (solidarité, autorité, hiérarchie, etc.), soit, comme le dixième Congrès tenu à Genève en 1930, de sociologie spéciale (facteurs des guerres et de la paix). Le onzième Congrès a eu pour objet l'étude de la prévision sociologique et celle de l'habitat humain (HB 1936). The International Institute of Sociology was founded by R. Worms in 1893 and has been presided over in succession by the most distinguished sociologists; its triennial congresses have dealt with the most important matters connected with general sociology (solidarity, authority, hierarchy, etc.), or, like the tenth Congress held at Geneva in 1930, with special sociology (factors of war and peace). The eleventh Congress met to study sociological forecasts and the human habitat. The twelfth Congress (Brussels) studied "Elementary forms of social life " and "Elites "; the thirteenth Congress (Paris 1937) will examine the questions of "Social Equilibria " and "Foundations of a scientific sociology ".
